Israel is in a war for its survival.  We were brutallt attacked by the

muslim terrorist organization called Hamas on October 7.

More than 1400 persons( which includes 1300 Jews, Americans, 

Thais, Europeans, and arabs) were butchered in ways difficult to descibe

.Babies were decapitated, childten burned alive, children shot infront 

of parents and parents shot in front of children.  Hamas is like ISIS

and nazis.  80 percent of gaza residents voted for Hamas.  There are

very few innocent gazans.  I took Debbe and Ira to Elkanah whete my 

eldest daughter lives.  I showed here an arab village next to her town

When the massacre occurred, they handed out candies.  Every day

they broadcast incitement to kill the Jews.

The real war hasn't started yet.  Where I live, we've been attacked dozen

of times by missiles.  Luckily, Israel produced the Iron Dome anti missile

system..

There are more than 220 hostages, including 25 Americans

held by Hamas.

Israel will defeat ISIS nazi murders.

Reconnecting at the 75th birthday party: Pam Lindstrom, Lela Christiansen Wheeler, Rosie Fasullo and Nancy Carson.

Joanie Jacobsen Frederick and her husband John  checked us in at the door for our evening of reconnecting and birthday celebrating. Speaking of birthdays, we found out later that Meredith Wilcoxen Marquez was the youngest class member present. Sue Kreutzer Silva is on the right. 

Gary Woods and Mike Garver came all the way from Washington State to join the fun. Here they are with Cathy Nickalou and Barry Brown. 

I took a few pictures of classmates having fun at the Elks club. It was great to see everybody! Mr Logger, Brent Howatt, Sue Kreutzer-Silva, Debbie Hartman, Linda Speer and Ken Cissna in the background with his wife. 

I just got an email from Brent Howatt regarding the Mr. Logger but that we borrowed for our B'day bash.  Brent wore the Mr. Logger outfit at several basketball games...not football games...and the bust he wore was different than the one we borrowed.  He had me check the photo in our 1966 yearbook that showed Mr. Logger.  It is clearly a different bust.  So...while the one at the event may be old...it is not the original apparantly...and Brent would know.  We got our info from the EHS office.  They told us we had the original.  They are wrong.  I'm having them do some additional checking.  It would be interesting to get the correct history.  My best guess is that the original came into existence (in physical form anyway) around 1963.  If anyone can shed more light on this, let me know.  Thanks.  Barry

We were honored to have the "original" Mr. Logger in attendance (see photo).  Brent Howatt was at the event and provided the body and legs for Mr. Logger at one point during his high school career.  Cathy and I borrowed Mr. Logger from EHS for the event.  He is the original and the one created (as best we can determine) around 1963.  He appeared undamage except for some dings and scratches (and a bandaid on his forhead).  I was amazed at just how heavy he is.  I have renewed appreciation for Brent and others who stumbled around the football field and other venues with such a weight on their shoulders.  It was great to have Mr. Logger at our party as he not only brought back a lot of memories but provided the backdrop for a lot of photo ops.  More photos so follow.  

Cathy and I are recovering this morning from last night's party at the Elks Lodge.  What a great event! We had classmates from Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma, Washington, Nevada, Tennessee, Arizona, Oregon, various parts of Californa and elsewhere who were in attendance.  We are especially grateful to those who chose to attend our party at significant personal expense and time.  They clearly helped make the event a success.  I'm attaching the first in a series of photos that we'll be posting in the days/weeks ahead.  If there was one photo that exemplified the spirit of our birthday gathering, it is this one.  It shows our classmate, Fred Wendt, and his wife, Debby, on the dancefloor, cearly having fun.  It was the first reunion Fred has attended.  Another classmate, Bill Graziose, came all the way from Oklahoma and arrived wearing his cowboy hat.  It was so good to see him again.  Doug Hicks arrived after making the trip from Florida.  We had a great time talking with him as well and sharing "alligator stories".  And, I can't forget Steve Chapelle, who came all the way from Tennessee.  It was so good to see him again.  Cathy and I visited with so many of our classmates and old friends but wanted to particularly recognize in this post, those who traveled long distances to attend the party.  We are so very lucky to have such a great graduating class.  We may be aging a bit but our minds are still young and full of spirit.  We are already thinking about our next gathering.

We were out for a walk and dropped in on our classmate Eric Hollenbeck at his Blue Ox Millworks. He  is featured in the Craftsman series on Prime Video. Great show! With Anne Loring and Vicky Joyce.

I ended  my career owning an office in Silverton, OR,  that had anywhere from 12-25 agents. In 2020 I retired, sold my business to 3 of my agents, and my husband (already retired from the wine business), and our little Havanese dog, Abi moved to St George Utah. We love it here. We have done extensive traveling in our 32 years of marriage, Top of the hit parade would be South Africa, and Thailand. All the places we have had the good fortune to be able to visit were wonderful. My son Kevin still lives in Silverton so that gives us a reason to come to Oregon occasionally.Not sure about being able to make it to the 75th Birthday celebration, but if not, my best to all.

We moved to Fremont, CA in 1977 and have been here ever since. After our kids left high school, I took a job at the Alameda County Library. Steve retired after 35 years about 10 years ago, and I retired about 6 years ago after 27 years. We have been fortunate enough to do some traveling, visiting Australia, Austria, and Germany, as well as over 20 States plus an Alaskan cruise. Covid shut down a lot of that but with things loosening up we hope to begin traveling again. Our Son is in Rancho Cordova and is a Sales Operation Manager for a computer data storage company. Our Daughter lives in Modesto and is an Instructional Facilitator for an elementary school.
I hope the reunion is a success and everybody has a great time.

Ira and had a great visit with with our classmate, Joe Wallace, this March (2023) on our trip to Israel. Our next travels will be to see grandchildren do their stuff this spring. 

After retiring from the US Marine Corps (30 yrs.) & traveling all over the world, I moved to Olando, Fl. to work at a Radio Controlled model company (BVM jets) where I helped design/fly such. In competion; I obtained 1st place in the US, Canada & in 1995 representing the US placed 1st place in the 1st World Jet Masters Competion in Gremany. I also flew RC jets in 4 Hollywood movies. I then moved to Kalispell, MT where I begin a new phase in my life working for the MT. Fish & Game dept. as an Ex-Oficio Warden/ Water Safety officer. I then got back into hunting; traveling again all over the world, meeting new people & experiencing some unbelievable situations & harvesting some magnificent animals. So you see I'm experiencing a very blessed and special life. Stay well all...    "Semper Fi"   Ham

Dear Classmates,

So much has happned since our last reunion. I am so happy and excited to tell you all about the new man in my life.. Barry Brown.

Can you believe it only took approximately half century for him to ask me out?  To paraphrase the popular country song  " He had me from the first HELLO " . It was truly one of those Sleepless in Seattle moments. 

We are now both retired, loving life, traveling in our new trailer, fly fishing when we can, and planning the rest of our life together. 

We hope to see you all soon. Covid has made it difficult to have committee meetings, but hoping that soon we will  gather and start making plans for summer of 2023.

While it's been many years since we wandered the halls at Eureka High, I've joined hands and hearts with an old classmate and feel as if I've come full circle with my life. I can still remember Cathy Nickalou in her loggerette outfit of the'60's. Now I can look across the room and see her once again; still pretty and still talking non-stop lol. While she's gone through a number of life traumas (as have most of us), she's come through it stronger and wiser. We can now hold hands, fly fish together, wander the hills as much as our bodies will allow and travel the countryside in our travel trailer. We took over a half century to re-connect with each other but it's happened and life is good. She's the love of my life and I'm a happy man. 

Can't wait to see everyone again.. 

Kathy Clague, Vicky Joyce and Debbe Hartridge out and about in Henderson Center recently. Vicky and I started going for regular walks since Covid struck and Vicky retired from her Arcata shop, Bubbles. Your class reunion committee friends have some plans afoot, so stay tuned! 

We've taken our kayaks on the lagoons and a couple of the bay sloughs. A whole new way to enjoy this beautiful area in the past two years.

Still kicking after years of adventure I don't travel overseas as much, and we have 6 grandchildren. Hope to see many of you at the next reunion...

As Barry Brown stated, 'Life Is Good'. Still chugging away here in Texas No snow this Christmas past...Not so much foreign travel anymore - the odd cruise now and then, and our annual Marling fishing trip to TSL in Panama-Pacific coast. Six grandchildren and 7 cats... Hope to see many of you at the next reunion.

Hi all. I’m retired (11 years now) and still living in the mountains of north Georgia, though I’ve moved three times since the last address the class had on file. Life brings surprises including Beth Roberts who walked into my life seven years ago (see photo from a local Arts group’s fundraiser two nights ago). I’ll see you in September.

Sorry that I will miss the 75th Bday party/ reunion. Bev and I have been traveling alot since retirment 12 years ago. And,... unfortunately we will be on another trip during most of the month of September. Going to Australia and New Zealand. We are still living in Ft.Lauderdale, and have a second home in Ft.Myers where 3 of our 5 children live. Our house there was flooded during hurricane Ian, and we spent months repairing it. It's all done now and better than ever. I am still doing Masters Swimming and working at that most every day. It keeps me in shape and I compete regularly. Wish all of you the best, and wish I could be there. Have a great reunion. See you next time!
