After an initial few lows in my post-EHS education program, I was fortunate enough to obtain a scholarship to Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, Texas, where I completed my M.Sc. program and Ph.D. studies in Geosciences. After that, I spent my entire business career associated with the Petroleum Industry as an explorationist, program manager, and global adviser with companies such as BP, Exxon/Mobil, SAIC, Saudi Aramco, and Chevron. I retired at 64. I have been to 75 countries, worked in 45 of them, lived in 11 countries, and experienced 3 revolutions. It has been a wonderful life to date, and I expect to enjoy much more of it in the future.

Now, I enjoy life with my wife Jan and our forest kittens in Bentwater Country Club on Lake Conroe, north of Houston in Texas. We golf, travel, fish for marlin, pursue collecting hobbies (stamps, ancient coins, old US and Texas currency, Disney Scrooge McDuck lithographs, rocks, southwestern Indian art, Soviet & German WWII combat awards, books, photos of the universe and of the earth, and mid-east tribal jewelry), read (personal library contains 3600 volumes), write poetry, and generally take life day to day with a smile. We have three sons, all of whom are currently employed in the petroleum industry. Two were military: Kadrian as a Ranger with the 75th Ranger Regiment, and Julian as an assault paratrooper with the 173rd Airborne Brigade in Khost on the Pak-Afghan border.

My two regrets are 1) looking through the "In Memory" section and noting all of those who have passed on, and 2) not having much interaction with all of you over the years... Enjoy the time we have, and use it wisely every day. Best to all of you.
